The Heart behind Sprinkles of Joy...
We are to take care of ourselves so we are better equipped for our calling. It can be harder or difficult for those with limited diets and busy lives to take care of themselves. It is also challenging to find healthier, tasty alternatives for your needs. My goal is to provide fresh, made from scratch options, with simple ingredients that sprinkle a little bit of joy into your lives, especially for those who have restrictive diets.
1 Corinthians 10:31 'Therefore whether you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.'
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 'Or do you not know your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you? Whom you have from God, and you are not on your own? For you were bought at a price, therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.'
Philippians 1:20 'according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with the boldness as always, so now also Christ may be magnified in my body whether by life or by death.'
Romans 12:1 'I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the tender mercies of God, that you present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.'
All items are made in an environment free from gluten, dairy, corn, and soy. Additionally we avoid using gums (xanthan gum, guar gum, lotus bean gum), artificial sweeteners, and preservatives which are found in most allergy friendly products. Many of the items I provide can be special ordered to fit your dietary needs.
How it all got started...
Growing up I always had a love for baking. I attribute this to my mom, who invested in homeschooling my 3 older siblings and I. A major part of our schooling was in learning how to cook and bake as part of our curriculums. In her high school years we discovered my sister had celiac. This changed all of the wonderful recipes we had passed down through our family, had holiday traditions of, and created together. Most of which we were completely unable to enjoy anymore. This doesn't begin to scratch how hard traveling, dining out or social gatherings became for my sister.
Being disheartened by this I started on my culinary journey into the world of gluten free. I definitely didn't have success at first, a lot of trial and error happened. Ever thing came out, dry, dense, flavorless, bitter, gritty, one or all of the above. Until finally I had a breakthrough. Carrot cake (this should have been no surprise considering my infinity for bunnies).
After my success with that first carrot cake, things started to come together. There still was a lot to learn. With each new recipe I was able to master and my passion only began to grow. It was such a delight to be able to make something that my sister and whole family could enjoy. Gradually I started baking for house guests and people we knew. After getting paid a few times I started taking orders so and dreaming up my business feeling this was my calling.
Through the years I had a few jobs that allowed me to work on my decorating skills, and photography. I started getting requests for more dietary needs and I saw the need for this more and more. Seeing as food is so much a part of fellowship and community I felt God place it on my heart to be as accommodating as possible. Also striving to use the healthiest cleanest ingredients at the lowest prices I could offer.
Ultimately my passion is to 'sprinkle joy' by providing safe and safe tasty options for those who feel isolated and discouraged by their health needs. Looking to the future I hope to expand my business in God's will and timing.
